The way to easily convert an Outlook mailbox to a Lotus Notes mailbox seems to be easy when described by Lotus tech support. You can find it here.

However, in my opinion this is a bit dry… What to do before that ? And, especially, what to do after, to present the user with a ready to use converted mailbox, not something that looks like a dump bag in which you just threw the e-mail that were in the Outlook mailbox.

In some particular cases, you might want to transfer mail data from 1 mailbox to another one. (like if you are converting an Outlook mailbox to a Lotus Notes mailbox)

You can do this through copy-and-paste, but it takes a lot of time, and if you have many folders in your mailbox structure, it quickly becomes hell.

1 way to go is through mail archiving.

Symptoms:

When accessing pdf documents linked on your site, users get the following error messages:

* A blank white screen in the browser (Intermittent*).
* Adobe PDF error message indicating “Adobe reader could not open the file ‘XXX.fdf’ because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been corrupted (for example it has been sent as an email attachment and wasn’t correctly decoded)”
* Adobe PDF error message indicating “The created pdf is corrupted and cannot be opened”.
* Adobe PDF error message indicating “The file is damaged and could not be repaired”.

Symptoms:

When you try to open an attachment in Lotus Note, the required application is launched but the file doe not open, and instead you get the following error message:

“There was an error opening this document. The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect”.

Also, the attachment name is unreadable, made only of little points or squares.

And this happens especially when your counterpart is Japanese, Chinese, Arab… or any nationality that use an alphabet different from the western one.
